From Life Sciences to Energy, Automation to Manufacturing, Aviation, Defense, Automotive, Rail and Transportation to Information Systems and Telecommunications, our unwavering commitment to excellence is shaping the future of technology and industry. - Designs sub-systems of moderately to complex automatic machines, robotic cells, and various material handling systems. - Using customer specifications as starting point, works with engineers and designers to generate 3D models using Solidworks®. - Produces high-quality detail models and drawings from sketches, provided within customer specifications within project allotted time. Final design to follow industry standard conventions, company best practices and be accurate. - Use preliminary stress calculations on the proposed part before modelling. Perform FEA and apply analysis results to final models. - Perform and record other calculations as required by the application including but not limited to Motor Power, Robot reach/payload/inertia, Chain pull force, etc. - Performs tolerance analysis on designs and incorporates manufacturing best practices. - Design structural components, assemblies and sub-assemblies of hydraulic presses, fabrications, and their related equipment. - Produce standard designs using SolidWorks and create assembly prints, mechanical drawings, and weld fabrication specifications. - Create designs in line with company procedure, regulations, and client standards. - Generate detail and assembly drawings, associated BOMs and any technical documentation related to the product. - Submit drawings to senior engineers and manufacturing teams. - Ensures quality, cost and delivery commitments on projects are met. - Work on schedule and within the budget on all mechanical aspects of the project and manage own time for maximum efficiency. - Provide all information to support procurement of all mechanical related components, entering data into MRP system. - Capable of writing technical documents in English at an engineering level. Candidate requirements - Automation experience (pick-and-place, material conveyors) • Competent with 3D CAD modelling systems with ability to draft engineering drawings using SolidWorks and FEA analysis principles is requisite. - Demonstrated technical problem-solving abilities through experiments, analysis and systematic methods, technical documentation is essential. - Must be capable of understanding mechanism design, dimensioning complex geometry, measurement standards and materials requirements. - Knowledge in systematic engineering design process to meet functional requirement.
