As the Production Manager, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient and smooth operation of the manufacturing processes. You will be responsible for overseeing the entire production lifecycle, from detailing to final product assembly & packaging, while maintaining the highest standards of quality, safety, and efficiency. What you should expect: • Team Management – Lead, Manage and Accountability (LMA) • Engage, develop, and coach team members. • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, encouraging employees to identify and implement process enhancements. • Set performance expectations and provide feedback on an individual and team basis. • Set and maintain a regular schedule of 1 on 1 meetings with each team member. • Evaluate team performance and implement improvements in systems, processes, communications, and procedures. 2. Health & Safety – Safety and Equipment Management: • Ensure all team members experience the appropriate Health and Safety Training, both upon joining the team and as required throughout their career. • Act as a role model in the demonstration of positive health and safety behaviours at work. • Promote a culture of safety within the Shop (woodshop, CNC, assembly and warehouse areas), ensuring compliance with all safety regulations and guidelines. • Conduct regular safety training for employees and ensure safe operating procedures for equipment used in the Shop. • Perform routine inspections of warehouse racking, equipment, and tools, identifying and addressing any safety concerns promptly. • Maintain accurate records of safety incidents and near-misses, taking proactive measures to prevent future occurrences. 3.Production Planning & Scheduling: • Develop and execute production schedules, considering account customer orders, resource availability, and inventory levels to ensure on-time delivery and optimal resource utilization. • Balance the workload of the Shop team to optimize scheduling, productivity, and efficiency. • Monitor schedules, adjust resources to meet deadlines and communicate project risks to the Director of Operations and Head of Project Management. • Strong understanding of supply chain management processes, including procurement, inventory control, logistics, and materials management. 4.Fabrication Methodology: • Creative & innovative approach to determine how to build what was designed. • Communicate with Estimating and Engineering team regarding fabrication methodology. • Possess an engineering mindset with a solid grasp of the technical aspects of manufacturing. • Champion new technologies that drive plant‑wide speed and efficiency gains. 5.Maintenance - Machinery & Building: • Management of building repairs & maintenance: paint & patch, light replacement, water leaks, garage door repairs, etc. • Ensure inspections of building health occur to ensure compliance with Health & Safety standards and policies: fire extinguishers, sprinkler systems, pest control, etc. • Ensure regular and preventative maintenance is performed on all machinery and equipment to ensure optimal performance and life span of machinery. 6.Quality Standards: • Determine quality standards and measure finished products against standards. • Identify opportunities for process improvements, cost reduction, and efficiency enhancements. 7.Communication, Reporting and Analysis: • Maintain open and effective communication with cross-functional teams, including Project Management to ensure alignment and timely updates on production status. • Develop and manage the production budget, tracking expenses and optimizing resource allocation. • Complete other assignments deemed necessary for the company to be successful.
