We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Nuclear Medicine Technologist with PET/CT experience to join our growing Nuclear Medicine & Molecular Imaging team. The successful candidate will perform a broad range of PET/CT and nuclear medicine procedures in accordance with applicable legislation, clinical standards, and departmental procedures, and adhere to the standards of the College of Medical Radiation and Imaging Technologists of Ontario (CMRITO). This role requires strong technical expertise in PET/CT imaging, radiopharmaceutical handling, patient assessment, and multidisciplinary collaboration. The ideal candidate is adaptable, detail-oriented, and committed to excellence in patient-centered care.Responsibilities- Perform the full gamut of diagnostic and therapeutic nuclear medicine and molecular imaging procedures, including nuclear medicine, nuclear cardiology, SPECT/CT, PET/CT, bone mineral density, and radionuclide therapy exams and procedures.- Operate and maintain nuclear medicine and molecular imaging equipment, ensuring proper functioning and adherence to quality control standards.- Produce high quality diagnostic images and post‑processing reformats.- Perform radiopharmaceutical production and quality control procedures.- Perform cardiovascular stress testing or be willing to obtain certification within 3 months.- Prioritize and coordinate procedure scheduling, develop appropriate care plans, and be responsible for all aspects of patient care including assisting, educating, and instructing patients before, during, and after their procedure.- Collect, document, and verify patient information and relevant history, maintain records, adhere to patient privacy and confidentiality protocols, and obtain informed consent.- Practice in accordance with radiation safety, occupational health and safety, infection prevention and control protocols; adhere to all Unity Health policies and procedures.- Collaborate effectively with all members of multidisciplinary healthcare teams.- Participate in learner education and new staff training.- Uphold and promote the mission, vision, and values of Unity Health Toronto.Qualifications- Graduation from a recognized nuclear medicine and molecular imaging educational program (diploma, undergraduate degree, or higher), required.- Nuclear Medicine Certification (RTNM) with the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT), required.- Current Nuclear Medicine Technologist registration and in valuable standing with the College of Medical Radiation and Imaging Technologists of Ontario (CMRITO), required.- 3–5 years of PET/CT experience, preferred.- PET and CT specialty certification considered an asset.- Proficiency in radiopharmaceutical production, handling, and administration, asset.- 12‑lead ECG interpretation and stress testing certification and experience, asset.- Completion of a CT contrast injection course and experience, asset.- Completion of an Ontario Association of Radiologists Canadian Bone Mineral Densitometry (OAR CBMD) or International Society for Clinical Densitometry (ISCD) course and experience with BMD and vertebral fracture assessment, asset.- Recent related experience in a hospital environment, strongly preferred.Skills- Detail‑oriented with exceptional organizational and time‑management abilities.- Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced, demanding, and stressful environment.- Ability to problem‑solve, make decisions, and take initiative.- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.- Excellent communication skills – written and verbal.- Excellent critical thinking, multi‑tasking, and judgement skills.- Excellent interpersonal and conflict‑management skills.- Excellent work performance and attendance record.- Excellent teaching skills.- Ability to work all shifts, be flexible, and have an excellent attendance record.Benefits- Be part of a renowned academic health science center with a commitment to excellence in patient care, research, and education.- Work in a vibrant and diverse community with a rich cultural heritage.- Access to career development opportunities and cutting‑edge technologies.- Competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package.Inclusion & EEOSt. Michael's Hospital and Unity Health Toronto are committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive work environment.
