Our client, an innovative organization operating within the critical care and respiratory therapy space, is seeking a Therapy Development Specialist to support clinical adoption and therapy implementation across Canada.

This is a highly unique clinical-commercial hybrid role combining:

  • Clinical education

The successful candidate will work closely with ICU teams, respiratory therapists, physicians, and hospital stakeholders to support the introduction and integration of a groundbreaking respiratory therapy technology within critical care environments.

Role Overview

The Therapy Development Specialist will play a key role in:

  • Driving therapy adoption
  • Supporting hospital implementation

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Adoption & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Identify and prioritize hospitals with strong adoption potential
  • Build relationships with:
  • Respiratory Therapists
  • Intensivists
  • ICU Nurses
  • Hospital leadership
  • Procurement and administrative stakeholders
  • Support therapy adoption discussions within complex healthcare environments
  • Help align stakeholders around implementation readiness and long-term value

Site Activation & Clinical Launch

  • Coordinate therapy launches and onboarding activities
  • Deliver training and clinical education to end users
  • Support integration into ICU workflows and bedside care
  • Build user confidence and therapy competence from first clinical use onward
  • Partner closely with respiratory and ICU teams during implementation

Utilization Growth & Ongoing Support

  • Conduct follow-up visits and account reviews
  • Support therapy utilization and long-term adoption
  • Identify adoption barriers and help implement corrective actions
  • Monitor account engagement and therapy activity levels
  • Support growth across assigned territories and hospital systems

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Collaborate with sales, marketing, and clinical stakeholders
  • Share market insights and adoption feedback
  • Contribute to long-term account planning and growth strategies

Candidate Profile

Required Qualifications

  • Medical device industry experience
  • Experience working within:
  • ICU environments
  • Respiratory therapy
  • Critical care
  • Ventilation-focused settings
  • Strong understanding of:
  • Mechanical ventilation
  • Respiratory physiology
  • ICU workflows
  • Weaning practices
  • Ability to engage credibly with clinical stakeholders and ICU teams
  • Strong communication, training, and presentation skills
  • Ability to work independently within a field-based environment
  • Entrepreneurial and self-driven mindset
  • Comfortable operating within a fast-paced, launch-stage environment

Preferred Backgrounds

  • Respiratory Therapist (strongly preferred)
  • ICU-focused clinical specialists
  • Respiratory or ventilation-focused medical device professionals
  • Critical care physiotherapists or ICU clinicians with strong respiratory expertise
  • Experience in therapy implementation, clinical education, or adoption-focused roles

Travel & Territory

  • Field-based role with regular travel across Canada
  • Occasional travel to the United States may be required
  • Candidates should ideally be located near:
  • Major metropolitan hospital systems
  • A major airport
  • Travel intensity may vary depending on account activity and launch phase
