As a key member of the [Department] team, you'll help shape health and wellness outcomes for people around the world.

Here's what you can expect in your role:

Overall Responsibilities

The Material Planner will be responsible to purchase raw materials and/or bills of materials that are critical for Jamieson's day-to-day operations. They will review and process purchasing requisitions into purchase orders and ensure vendors adhere to on time in full goals to achieve operational success.

Specific Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Develop and execute the material supply plan.
  • Authorize and issue purchase orders.
  • Proactively manage materials and vendors to meet production requirements
  • Develop contingency plans to account for temporary materials or transportation disruption
  • Review MRP material releases and develop economic order quantities
  • Resolve quality and/or economic problems arising from commercial supply situations
  • Communicate with vendors when purchase orders are due to be received to ensure they are on time for delivery
  • Review vendor invoices with errors and coordinate a quick resolution
  • Monitor inventory levels for critical parts (MRP)
  • Create reporting and tracking processes to ensure leadership has accurate and useful information
  • Working in compliance with the company's Health & Safety Policies/SOPs including but not limited to the Safety Responsibilities Procedure
  • Will comply with Good Manufacturing Practices in all GMP sensitive areas of Jamieson Laboratories Ltd. facilities

What You Bring

You're a mix of curious, collaborative, and purpose-driven — and ready to grow in a team that lives its values.

Your experience and perspective might include:

  • Post-Secondary education in Business
  • Three (3) to five (5) years purchasing experience, preferably in CPG or with complex bills of material
  • Proven negotiation, problem solving, and supply base management skills
  • Familiar with GMP and various practices of Food/Pharma industries
  • Demonstrated experience with an MRPII system and MS Office applications
  • Ability to build productive business partnerships with both suppliers and associates
  • Ability to travel to vendor site and trade shows as directed
  • Strength in inter-personal, teamwork and communication skills
  • Innovative, adaptable, and motivated toward continuous improvement of self, portfolio and overall business
  • Excellent conflict and crisis resolution skills
