Summary The Technical Manager, Operations is responsible for operations and budget management, service delivery, client relationship management, health and safety, emergency preparedness, and business continuity for an assigned portfolio. Position Highlights The role includes: - Highly complex service delivery - Multiple or significant single-client accounts - Complex contract requirements - Direct reports, including Team Leads, Facility Services Coordinators, Account Managers, and Technicians Key Duties & Responsibilities People Leadership - Lead recruiting - Provide mentoring, coaching, and guidance - Recommend compensation adjustments - Manage performance processes Portfolio Management - Manage service delivery for a portfolio or single client - Act as HVAC subject‑matter expert supporting account teams and clients - Ensure KPI objectives are met - Create, implement and document service delivery regimes - Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders on escalated issues - Oversee program changes and service delivery performance - Identify efficiencies and best practices, including sustainable initiatives - Optimize portfolio to create continuous value for clients Service Delivery Management - Meet contractual obligations for each client environment - Resolve problems and maintain open communication with clients - Recommend solutions and implement actions for issues - Monitor performance against metrics, identify gaps, and execute corrective actions - Ensure scope adherence and escalation as needed - Provide on‑call coverage for the front‑line team - Drive efficiencies and best‑practice adoption Client Relationship Management - Develop and maintain effective relationships with clients and ensure ongoing satisfaction - Act as the focal point of escalation for service delivery issues Risk Management, Emergency Preparedness, and Business Continuity Planning - Develop and execute emergency preparedness, risk management, disaster recovery, and business continuity plans - Collaborate with stakeholders on incident management requirements Health, Safety, Workplace & Security - Serve as the focal point of contact and collaborate with the Environmental, Health, Safety, and Security Team to ensure compliance with legislation and requirements - Monitor safe delivery of work performed within office and remote locations Project Management - Develop and execute project plans for assigned projects - Oversee project delivery and participate in large company‑wide projects - Coordinate with stakeholders to ensure minimal disruptions to service delivery Budget Development & Management - Meet budget targets for the service delivery team - Coordinate with operations and finance teams for expense monitoring and reporting - Review and approve expenditures Regulatory Compliance - Ensure all regulatory compliance requirements are fulfilled and documentation is maintained Procurement - Collaborate with Procurement and Supply Chain Administration to source and qualify vendors and procure goods and services - Ensure adequate inventory of tools and supplies for facility operations Knowledge & Skills - Community college diploma, trade school, or technical bachelor’s degree - Minimum ten years of direct HVAC work experience - Strong service delivery and client obligation management - Expertise in emergency preparedness and business continuity planning - Intermediate budget management abilities - Excellent communication, influence, persuasion and negotiation skills - Superior written communication - Client relationship management skills - Demonstrated people leadership - Client service orientation and sense of urgency - Project delivery expertise - Solid knowledge of health and safety requirements and safety mindset - Continuous improvement and quality mindset - Current knowledge of contact centre best practices - Knowledge of building management from repair request perspective Licenses and/or Skilled Accreditation - Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Systems Mechanic – 313A (Commercial/Industrial) - Project Management Professional (PMP) Compensation Regular full‑time position with a salary range of $96,322‒$120,402 per annum, based on competencies.
