Slipform/Curb Machine Gomaco/Power Curbers Operator (Toronto)

We are seeking an operator for our Slipform Canada division. This is a full time position and will be located in Toronto Ontario, Canada, but not limited to, as we expand our presence there. Union - Our operators and string line setters are part of Local 183. Troubleshoot problems. - Being a slipform operator isn't just about operating a piece of equipment; it requires the knowledge to repair the machine on the go if required as you will not have time to wait for a mechanic to arrive to repair mechanical issues. Maximize the efficient use of service and repair processes to provide fast, accurate service and minimize unnecessary expense to both Gambini Consulting and our clients. Efficiently utilize resources to correct problems. - Slipforming often requires the ability to overcome job site issues such as high base, soft base or putting yourself and the machine into tight locations, you will need the knowledge to overcome these issues. Plan proper operating procedures for efficiency. - You will need to be able to plan your route of travel for the machine throughout the job site in an efficient way to minimize expenses to our clients and abuse on our machines, but most importantly to minimize the time required to accomplish the project. For example, you may want to start where you will also finish. Continually improve key processes. - We want you to always be improving and advancing your skills as a slipform operator, we do not want the "I know everything attitude, as you will never stop learning as a slipform operator. Successfully contribute towards building a culture of safety through completion of all safety initiatives and demonstrating safe work habits. - Gambini Consulting values safety above all even if it means losing money on a project. We expect you to not only run our equipment in a safe manner, but we also want you to contribute to our safe work atmosphere by actively trying to make our company safer, in other words, we want you to let us know if we can make your day safer - Work in a proactive, safe manner in compliance with all safety practices, policies, and training. - Immediately resolve and/or report all safety issues to the supervisor. - Maintain a clean and safe work area in compliance with all contamination control initiatives. - Complete/attend all safety meetings, computer-based safety training, safety audits, and other safety training as assigned. Must have a valid drivers license - A valid G license is required for driving company vehicles. - Must have a good driving record, and we expect you to drive our company vehicles in a safe manner. Must have a clean criminal record - We work internationally and although you are not required to, we want that option available if required for future growth. - We work on many government projects, and some of those projects require a clean record. Must have 2+ years experience on a power curber, Gomaco or other machines. - Slipforming takes years to learn, not months and we do not have time for mistakes. It takes up to 2 years to become good on these machines with proper training and with the required dedication from you. - Although we own and operate Gomaco through Slipform Canada, we also offer operating services to other companies, and we need operators who are versatile in various machines although this is not a requirement. Must be drug and alcohol-free. - Operating slipform machine requires an extreme amount of mental concentration and the ability to multitask several moving parts that can seriously injure someone and we cannot have operators whose mental ability may be impaired even in the slightest. This is a zero chance policy; we will not tolerate this. An employee/employer contract will be required. Wage - $40-60/hour. - Experience will determine your wage.
