As a Full-Time Cleaner (Transit Stations) , you will help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming setting across public transit stations to the highest standard. This is a permanent full-time position with a schedule of five (5) shifts per week , assigned based on operational requirements. POSTING DETAILS (Mandatory Information) Location: 85 Industry St, York, ON M6M 4L5 Job Classification: Full-Time Cleaner Rate of Pay: $20.15/hour (as per Collective Agreement) Hours of Work: 40 hours per week (before breaks) Schedule: Five (5) shifts per week Shift: Afternoon- 2:30 Pm- 10:30 Pm Number of Positions: 6 Employees Your work will include: Cleaning and disinfecting station areas including entrances, concourses, platforms, and washrooms Sweeping, mopping, spot cleaning, and high-touch surface cleaning (doors, railings, elevator, faregates/TVMs) Replenishing washroom supplies (toilet tissue, paper towels, hand soap) and completing required checks/inspections. Using auto-scrubber and auto-sweeper as needed. Prioritized work order completion and reporting to quality assurance. Reporting issues such as graffiti, damage, hazards, or cleanliness concerns as required, and then removing it on approval by Supervisor. Performing periodic deep-cleaning tasks such as machine scrubbing floors and detailing surfaces (as assigned) Garbage collection and liner changing and interior and exterior litter pickup WHATS IN IT FOR YOU? Schedule is subject to operational requirements in accordance with the Collective Agreement Qualifications WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR? A great attitude and strong attention to detail Strong English communication skills (reading, writing, and speaking) mandatory Cleaning/janitorial experience is an asset (minimum 6 months preferred) Floor care experience is an asset (machine scrubbing and detailing) Comfortable standing/walking for extended periods in a public-facing environment Comfortable using cleaning chemicals and equipment safely Able to communicate professionally with supervisors, clients, and the general public Able to lift up to 25 lbs and perform physical tasks (bending, pushing/pulling equipment) A clear criminal background check is required for this role Additional Information Dexterra Group is an equal opportunity employer committed to diversity and inclusion.
