Senior Mechanical Design Engineer Lead the design and development of custom high‑speed automation systems. Manage projects from concept through production, collaborating across engineering, manufacturing, and procurement teams. Drive creative solutions for complex automation challenges and elevate Pack‑Smart’s machine design to the next level. Salary Range: $120,000 - $160,000 CAD. Responsibilities - Conceptualize, model, and detail components and assemblies using AutoCAD and 3D CAD (SolidWorks). - Evaluate and optimize existing mechanical systems. - Collaborate in design reviews and cross‑functional project planning. - Mentor and supervise junior designers and engineers. - Assist with drawing filesystem administration and project documentation. - Liaison between engineering procurement and manufacturing departments. Qualifications - 5+ years of mechanical design experience in automation or machine building. - Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or related field). - Proficiency in AutoCAD and 3D CAD software; SolidWorks is an asset. - Well‑versed in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance (GD&T;). - Robust knowledge of pneumatics, servo motors, and machine shop practices. - Experience with PDM document management systems. - Excellent problem‑solving, organizational, and communication skills.
