Could you be the full‑time Installation Engineering Design Leader in Toronto, ON we're looking for? Your future role Take on a new challenge and apply your engineering expertise in a new cutting‑edge field. The primary role will be to carry out Signalling Installation and Correlation Design activities related to the Metrolinx Corridors. You’ll be providing Signalling design support activity related to Installation and Engineering changes requested by our customers and inputs received from the Correlation activities. You will be responsible for the upkeep of electrical core data (schematics and wiring). Day‑to‑day, you’ll work closely within the Signalling Engineering Design team for Alstom. We’ll look to you for: Conduct a comprehensive review of the Site Correlation Report and update the existing Book of Plans based on correlation findings and client feedback, ensuring full alignment with GO Train Interlocking (IXL) System specifications and standards. Lead installation and correlation design activities, ensuring effective interface management and client coordination. Ensure installation and correlation design KPIs are achieved, and all documents are delivered in accordance with the project schedule. Developing Signalling and Telecommunication Installation/Wiring diagrams for new Signalling system while coordinating with the application engineering teams (Signalling and Telecommunications). This involves updating Signalling/ Fiber schematics, wiring tables. BOMs (Bill of Materials), creating cable installation routing diagrams, Book of Plans. Single and double line drawings etc. Preparing modification design data, analyze, develop, and demonstrate Signalling and Telecommunication Engineering solutions that solve complex issues for wayside Signalling/Telecommunication installation requirements. Providing Signalling/Telecommunication design cost and schedule estimates on complicated engineering programs. Providing technical expertise in support of other disciplines. Responding promptly to (TQ's) technical queries raised by the customer against design data. Client Requirements' Review with respect to Installation Design Activities. Instead, we’ve listed some that we think will help you succeed and grow in this role: The job-holder will need to demonstrate sufficient experience as a Design engineer of Wayside Signalling Systems. The candidate must be fully competent in using AutoCAD, Draft Sight and wiring tools to update electrical core data. Therefore, full proficiency in the use of AutoCad & Draft Sight and Excel are key requirements for this role in order to update electrical schematics and wiring data. Have exposure to the use of Digital Mock Ups (CAD modelling) of harnesses, Signalling cubicles/equipment, updating or creating new electrical schematics, wiring reports. Demonstrate a working knowledge of design Standards related to railway wayside design. An understanding of the optimum and standardization approach to wiring solutions is required to be able to deploy cable routes and materials to achieve optimum installation times. Have a sound understanding of electrical engineering principles and be able to understand system functions and interpret circuit diagrams. Demonstrate design experience in a highly complex and normative environment (Railway signalling and communication, wayside, CBTC, ETCS). Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Electrical and or Electronic Engineering. Licensed (required). May require to support in the field as needed. Required Signalling Design processes understanding (Interlocking (IXL), ETCS) Knowledge of signalling principles and translation of principles into application logic. Engineering and system background. Railway transport training certification. Familiar with railway signalling standards (Metrolinx SCP, AREMA, EN Standards). Working experience with AutoCAD. Design Team Management. On a more personal level, you will also need to be: Self‑motivated with a desire to learn. Able to work independently. Compensation The expected compensation for this role is $100,000 – $140,000 CAD per year, plus benefits and eligibility for an annual performance bonus.
