Job Summary
CSA Group has an immediate prospect for a Project Manager, Transit and Passenger Rail, who will facilitate the development of standards related to the transit and passenger rail sector, covering bus and railway electrification, process operations, safety performance, climate change mitigation and resilience. In this role the Project Manager oversees all aspects of standards development, managing multiple standards development committees, including facilitation, communication, member recruitment, agenda preparation, minutes, and draft standards, ensuring projects stay within timelines and budgets and comply with CSA Directives. Responsibilities
Lead committee management and provide project management leadership alongside Chair and Vice‑Chair. Oversee development of technical content and support members in preparing high‑quality documents. Identify and pursue new business development initiatives to expand the portfolio into recent areas. Determine and manage resources required to complete projects and ensure deliverables are met. Support and promote best practices and coordinate with other departments (legal, marketing, commercial). Develop stakeholder relationships with academia, regulators, industry, etc., and manage conflict. Monitor project milestones, schedules, funding, and revenue targets. Provide proposals, contracts, and financial analysis for recent projects. Ensure compliance with CSA accreditation procedures and international standards processes. Qualifications
Education: Undergraduate or graduate degree in a science or engineering discipline, or related area of study. Experience: Minimum 5 years of related experience, including 3–5 years in Standards Development or Project Management, with exposure to industry, manufacturing, service sectors, or regulatory environments; experience leading or working with multi‑stakeholder committees. Additional experience: Writing proposals, business plans, and technical documents; knowledge of standards industry, government policy, industry landscape, and funding programs/models. Designation: Certified Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent is an asset. Languages: Fluency in French required for the Quebec office; fluency in English required for clients outside Quebec. Skills: Research and analytical skills; self‑motivation; strong leadership, decision‑making, negotiation, organizational and planning skills; facilitation and interpersonal communication; proficiency with major Microsoft and project management software; ability to learn multiple software platforms. Travel & Compensation
Travel: Some travel will be required. Salary range: $86,160 – $100,000 CAD annually (base salary dependent on education, licenses, certifications, and experience). Eligible for an annual bonus program and other benefits. EEO Statement
