Job Description Overview AtkinsRéalis has a large, experienced hydroelectric team (over 100 employees) composed primarily of engineers and technicians, located in Montreal and Vancouver. The team’s activities include geotechnics and geology, civil engineering and structure, hydrology and hydraulics, mechanics and electricity. They work across the Canadian market and sometimes undertake international projects. The role is that of a structural engineer working on technical mandates specific to hydroelectric structures such as dams, spillways, and powerhouses. You will support the client in decision‑making and help clarify their needs while working within the engineering team on the analysis, design, and rehabilitation of structures for dam, hydraulic works, building, and bridge projects in hydroelectricity. Responsibilities Structural design of hydraulic structures, hydroelectric power plants and related structures (concrete and steel). Rehabilitation of hydraulic works, hydroelectric power plants and related structures. Multidisciplinary coordination, attending and leading design meetings (internally and with the client). Production of preliminary and detailed engineering, and preparation/verification of design calculations and associated calculation notes. Participation and supervision of the production of main technical deliverables (design reports, structural drawings, technical specifications for calls for tenders and construction). Follow‑up of works during construction. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, structural profile. Master’s degree in civil engineering (asset). Minimum 5 to 10 years of relevant experience in the design and rehabilitation of water‑retaining structures, bridges and civil engineering structures. Member of the PEO or eligible for registration as a professional engineer in Canada. Fluency in English (spoken and written); bilingualism is an asset. Knowledge of Ontario Power Generation standards is an asset. Compensation Expected compensation for this role is between $100,200 and $137,700 annually.
