Why this role is important Product designers at Loblaw Digital are full participants in designing the services and operations behind the scenes to deliver experiences that our customers find useful, convenient, and would recommend to their friends and families. Core Competencies for Senior Product Designer - Be customer‑focused – measure success in customer satisfaction and delight, and look through multiple customer lenses to test ideas. - Be collaborative – value all perspectives and facilitate shared understanding of problems, opportunities, or solutions. - Be outcomes‑focused – think beyond screen design to the broader context that influences design decisions. - Be hypothesis‑driven – ground solutions in testable assumptions. - Be research‑ and data‑informed – leverage research and data to discover problems, opportunities, and solutions, and use insights strategically. - Be self‑managed – lead design project management by scoping work and collaborating with product managers and developers. What You’ll Do - Bring art direction and design finesse to the digital product world: combine brand guidelines with systems thinking to create beautiful, functional, and AA‑accessible products. - Create alignment: collaborate with marketing, content, product, and other design disciplines to deliver consistent experiences. - Use and contribute to the Loblaws Digital pattern library, helping build the foundational design system. - Frame problems and opportunities: use existing data and research, and determine when primary research is needed. - Apply interaction design skills to shape digital user interfaces and influence the underlying services offered. - Design and conduct usability tests, then refine designs based on findings. - Design and conduct generative research to deepen customer understanding and identify business opportunities. - Facilitate discussions that help colleagues reach shared understanding of problems and opportunities. - Produce design artifacts required for front‑end developers to implement. - Track design performance post‑launch and continue optimization using data. - Build trust with the larger team and support onboarding of business partners into a team-oriented model. - Engage with and support the design team in an atmosphere of humility and continuous learning. Your Qualifications - Portfolio with recent case studies demonstrating impact. - Proven art‑direction skills delivering heavily branded digital designs. - Experience using or building product‑centric design systems. - Ability to frame problems and opportunities that address customer or business needs. - Strong problem‑solving skills with management of conflicting stakeholder and operational constraints. - Track record of establishing and measuring key performance indicators for design solutions. - Experience building and shipping complex applications or software. - Experience in cross‑functional teams with multiple designers, product managers, and stakeholders. - Experience working with data in collaboration with analysts to query web analytics and qualitative customer feedback. Employment Details Employment Type: Full time Role Type: Regular Hiring Range: $100,000.00 - $132,000.00 per year.
