Overview Position: Senior Manager, Information Technology & Data Management Department: IT and Operations Reports to: Chief Financial Officer Location: The Lung Health Foundation is based in Toronto and operates in a hybrid model, requiring office presence a minimum of two days per week with occasional travel within Ontario and across Canada as required. Position overview The Senior Manager, Information Technology and Data Management is a strategic and hands-on leader who oversees and strengthens the Lung Health Foundation’s technology and data setting as it evolves to meet growing operational, programmatic, and reporting needs. This role supports the organization’s 10-year strategy to become a national leader and trusted source for lung health data and research by building the central data hub, governing data, and enabling secure analytics. This role will ensure technology and data practices effectively support the organization’s mission and long-term goals. They will lead IT operations, guide data governance, advance the data hub, and promote a culture of data-informed decision-making. Responsibilities Vendor relationship and IT operations: Work with our managed service provider (BIT) who handles onboarding, Microsoft 365 setup, end-user help desk, device configuration, hardware troubleshooting, and telephone systems. Oversee internal systems, data governance, cybersecurity practices, Salesforce access, IT policy, and strategic development of technology and data environment. Data hub development: Lead the development of LHF’s central data hub, participate in selecting a new external vendor, and build infrastructure, integrations, and systems to align with the 10-year data strategy. Oversee collection, management, and integration of lung health data from internal programs, research institutes, government partners, and other stakeholders. Execute data-sharing agreements in partnership with ELT. Manage organizational data systems (CRMs, donor systems, analytics platforms) and dashboards/reporting tools through Salesforce. Data governance and analytics: Design models, forecasts, and performance metrics to guide long-term planning. Support automation of data workflows and optimize data management processes to reduce manual effort. Ensure analytics effectively support decision-making and demonstrate impact. IT operations & infrastructure: Oversee hardware, software, networks, and cloud services; coordinate with BIT for onboarding and ongoing IT needs. Maintain IT documentation, asset tracking, and vendor/SaaS contracts and SLAs. Ensure reliable, secure, and cost-effective operations including device management and telephony. Technology leadership & risk management: Develop and execute an organization-wide IT strategy, assess emerging technologies, lead digital transformation, oversee cybersecurity, privacy, disaster recovery, and business continuity. Team and collaboration: Supervise IT staff and contractors; enhance digital literacy and data fluency across teams; advise leadership on technology and data implications. Manage IT and data operations budget and procurement. Qualifications Education & Experience: Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Data Management, or related field (Master’s preferred). 7+ years in progressive IT leadership, preferably in a nonprofit or mission-driven context. Experience: Experience establishing/managing data systems with top-level data governance (health privacy or similar restrictions); CRM/donor databases; research data or client services systems. Experience with cloud environments, cybersecurity frameworks, and enterprise applications. Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of network administration, cloud platforms (Microsoft 365, AWS), enterprise security practices; proficiency in data management, SQL, analytics tools, and data governance. Familiarity with API integrations, automation tools, and low-code/no-code platforms. Essential expertise in Salesforce administration, configuration, reporting, and managing data structures, workflows, and integrations. Knowledge of PHIPA (Personal Health Information Protection Act) and privacy-compliant data systems. Leadership & interpersonal skills: Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and the ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical audiences.
