Principal Software Engineer (Toronto)

Position: Principal Software Engineer (Hybrid – North York office, 3 days on‑site) Posted: Thursday, April 23, 2026 Responsibilities Own the end‑to‑end design and implementation of complex, high‑impact solutions across back‑end, web, and mobile platforms. Lead architectural decisions, produce architecture artifacts, and conduct design reviews. Write production‑ready code in C# / .NET, ASP.NET Core, TypeScript, Angular, and React Native. Advocate and apply Domain‑Driven Design (DDD) and Event‑Driven Architecture (EDA) practices. Drive technology strategy for AI tooling, integrating daily usage of Cursor, Claude, and Gemini. Collaborate closely with product leaders, PMs, and other senior engineers to translate requirements into technical strategies. Champion fast, quality delivery in a culture that uses AI tooling as core workflow. Qualifications 10+ years of professional software engineering experience with leadership track. Demonstrated experience leading solution design and architecture sessions. Robust hands‑on technical skills in C# / .NET / ASP.NET Core, TypeScript, Angular, and React Native. Deep practical knowledge of DDD and EDA applied in production environments. Proven ability to communicate technical decisions clearly to engineers and product leads. Experience with real‑time technologies (WebSockets, gRPC, Firebase) and analytical databases (BigQuery, BigTable). Hands‑on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and real‑time data pipelines. Active daily use of AI development tools (Cursor, Claude, Gemini) – mandatory requirement. Comfortable with in‑person collaboration in North York office, three days per week. Compensation Base salary range: $135,000 – $165,000 (Canada). The final compensation package will be commensurate with the successful candidate's experience, skills, and geographic location.
