Position Senior Backend Developer – Node.js, MongoDB, OAuth, Banking/Finance Location Hybrid 3–4 days a week in Toronto, ON (4x onsite requirement) Visa Status & Duration Independent Consultant; 12+ months (Long Term Contract or CTH) What You Will Do Develop robust backend services using Node.js, JavaScript, and REST API design, focusing on scalability and low-latency processing. Design and implement REST APIs with OAuth authentication. Optimize data persistence and retrieval strategies using MongoDB, ensuring high availability for complex client data structures. Explore and implement WebAssembly (Wasm) modules to improve performance for computationally intensive tasks within the browser or server‑side environments. Modernize legacy CLM infrastructure by transitioning to a cloud‑native, microservices‑oriented architecture. Drive the end‑to‑end delivery of technical features. Build and maintain complex data integrations that fuel the CLM "data fabric," ensuring seamless connectivity between internal tech teams and external vendors. Proactively identify and resolve technical, architectural blockers, and performance bottlenecks. Collaborate closely with QA and DevOps to implement automated testing frameworks and CI/CD pipelines for performance validation. Required Qualifications 10+ years of skilled software development experience, heavy focus on backend systems within financial services. Expert‑level proficiency in Node.js. Strong experience with MongoDB, including schema design, aggregation frameworks, and performance tuning. Proven track record in Capital Markets tech, understanding client lifecycle (onboarding, KYC, AML). Location: Toronto, 4x days onsite requirement.
