About the Role As a Senior Data Science Manager at Capital One, you’ll be leading the next wave of disruption at a whole new scale, using the latest in distributed computing technologies and operating across billions of customer transactions to unlock the big opportunities that help everyday people save money, time, and agony in their financial lives. Responsibilities Oversee the development of software to operationalize, clean, and investigate large, messy data sets of structured and unstructured data. Network with various teams to explore internal and external data sources and APIs to help uncover new trends and improve analysis. Design and contribute to highly scalable data pipelines, machine learning models, tools, and products to enable the analyst community to fully leverage the power of AWS. Manage and develop talent to drive a highly performant and engaged team. Work with various teams to analyze large swaths of data to optimize different business programs. Investigate the impact of new technologies on the future of digital banking and the financial world of tomorrow. Basic Qualifications At least 7 years of experience in open-source programming languages for large-scale data analysis (Python, Scala, or Java). At least 7 years of experience with version control systems like Git and GitHub. At least 7 years of experience with relational databases and programming in SQL. At least 4 years in lead positions (managing people, owning products, architecting, and driving an agenda). At least 2 years of experience with machine learning workflows. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree, Master’s Degree, or PhD in a quantitative field. Experience working with AWS (EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, etc.). Experience with advanced Git workflows (Pull Requests, Code Reviews, Issues, and Branching). Experience with CI/CD tools. 2+ years of experience with machine learning workflows. 7+ years of experience in Python. 7+ years’ experience with SQL. 4+ years in lead positions (managing people, owning products, architecting, and driving an agenda). Experience at Capital One. Compensation and Benefits The expected annual salary range for this position is $184,800 to $210,000. The role is eligible for performance-based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonuses. Hybrid work is offered with 3 days in the office. Work from home allowances and benefits include mental health coverage up to $3,000, tuition subsidies up to $5,000 per year, full coverage for spouses, domestic partners, and dependents, and other comprehensive perks.
