About Us Bar ARDO is a Sicilian-inspired restaurant in the heart of downtown Toronto, led by Michelin-recognized Chef Roberto Marotta. We pride ourselves on warm hospitality, authentic cuisine, and a tight-knit team that takes care of one another as much as we take care of our guests. Position: The Dishwasher plays a vital role in keeping our kitchen running smoothly. You'll be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of dishware, glassware, utensils, and kitchen equipment, while supporting the culinary team during service. This role is the backbone of our kitchen — without you, service stops. Key Responsibilities - Wash dishes, glassware, flatware, pots, pans, and cooking utensils efficiently and to a high standard of cleanliness - Operate and maintain the commercial dishwashing machine, including proper loading, chemical levels, and end-of-night breakdown and cleaning - Sort, stack, and return clean items to their designated stations promptly to keep service moving - Keep the dish pit, surrounding floors, and drains clean, organized, and free of hazards throughout the shift - Empty trash and recycling bins regularly and break down cardboard for proper disposal - Support the kitchen team during deep cleans, including ovens, hoods, walk-ins, and storage areas - Follow all health, safety, and sanitation standards in line with Toronto Public Health and Ontario regulations - Communicate respectfully and professionally with all kitchen and front-of-house staff What We're Looking For - Strong work ethic and a sense of urgency, especially during peak service - Reliability and punctuality — the team depends on you being there - Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment with a positive attitude - Physical stamina and able to stand for long periods, lift up to 50 lbs - Team-oriented mindset with a willingness to pitch in wherever needed - Previous dishwashing or kitchen experience is an asset but not required — we'll train the right person - Eligible to work in Canada What We Offer - Competitive hourly wage plus tip-out - Staff meals during shifts - A supportive, respectful kitchen culture - Opportunities to grow within our team and learn from a Michelin-recognized chef - Versatile scheduling How to Apply Send your resume and a brief note about yourself to Job Type: Full-time Pay: $17.00-$19.00 per hour Experience: - Dishwashers & Stewards: 1 year (preferred) Work Location: In person Apply on Kit Job: kitjob.ca/job/2psvxl
