Job Overview
Responsible for supporting steam generator inspection and maintenance campaigns from engineering life cycle management perspective for the planned outages and providing fitness for service condition monitoring. Expected to support a more junior team of engineers with technical expertise
Review and disposition of eddy current and ultrasonic inspection results, and visual inspection results
Provide engineering advice or direction as required (i.e. for risk assessments, foreign material dispositions, inspection/outage scope changes)
Support tube plugging/ tube pulling recommendations as required per fitness-for-service guidelines and compliance to periodic inspection program (CSA N285.4)
Co-ordinate the clarification of specification requirements, and arrange for necessary changes and/or coordinate technical work as required for Pickering Replacement Steam Generator Program
Support Pickering Replacement Steam Generator Program engineering, procurement and manufacturing oversight phases Perform documentation reviews for Pickering Replacement Steam Generator Program to ensure work performed is fully documented, compliant and meets requirements.
Qualifications
Experience working in a Nuclear Engineering environment with Steam Generator experience
Knowledge of codes and standards in pressure boundary, inspection, maintenance and life cycle I aging management of Steam Generators
Knowledge of non-destructive examination techniques Knowledge of regulatory I CNSC interface
Application of CSA N285.4 periodic inspection programs, and knowledge of materials science/engineering principles applicable to Steam Generators
Knowledge of steam generator design, and steam generator tube material (1-800, Alloy 690TT) degradation mechanisms Candidate must hold a Professional Engineer of Ontario license.
