Job Summary We are seeking a reliable and safety-conscious Yard Associate to join our team. This role involves managing yard distribution tasks, operating heavy equipment, and supporting shipping and receiving operations. The ideal candidate will have experience in lumber or landscape yard environments, mechanical knowledge, and the ability to perform heavy lifting. This position offers an opportunity to work with a dynamic team in a fast-paced setting, contributing to efficient yard operations and overall productivity. Duties Load and unload materials using heavy equipment such as forklifts, clamp trucks, and cranes Perform order picking and ensure accurate fulfillment of warehouse orders Operate heavy machinery safely, including forklifts and other warehouse equipment Assist with shipping and receiving processes, ensuring proper documentation and handling Manage yard organization, including loading/unloading trucks and maintaining a clean work area Support construction-related tasks as needed within the yard setting Utilize warehouse management systems to track inventory and order status Conduct routine inspections of equipment to ensure safety and proper functioning Assist with general maintenance and mechanical troubleshooting when necessary Experience Prior experience in a distribution or warehouse management system operation preferred Mechanical knowledge or experience with heavy equipment operation such as forklifts, cranes, or clamp trucks is highly desirable Experience with order picker, load & unload procedures, and shipping & receiving processes required Background in construction or heavy lifting tasks is a plus Demonstrated ability to operate heavy machinery safely in a warehouse or yard setting Robust understanding of yard safety protocols and procedures This Yard Associate position is vital for maintaining smooth yard operations, ensuring safety standards are met, and supporting overall yard efficiency. Candidates should be prepared for physically demanding tasks involving heavy lifting and equipment operation while adhering to safety guidelines at all times.
