About The Role Canadian Blood Services is seeking a Temp. Full-Time Industrial Engineer to join our Operational Excellence team. The role involves working closely with management and front-line staff to maximize operational performance, develop and implement supply‑chain improvements, and sustain laboratory standard configurations. The engineer will collaborate with process‑development specialists, supply‑chain operations, and project teams to identify, design, study, and deploy solutions that drive efficiency and quality. Responsibilities Collaborate with supply‑chain staff to implement cost‑saving and continuous‑improvement initiatives. Utilize industrial‑engineering expertise to develop, revise, and maintain accurate estimates of labor, tooling, and floor‑space requirements. Leverage time‑motion knowledge to develop and execute studies that determine optimal workflows for staff and materials. Implement and monitor labor standards for all equipment and processes, drawing on industry standards and ongoing continuous‑improvement (CI) principles. Assist in the delivery of CI training for supply‑chain management and front‑line staff. Document processes through flow diagrams, PFMEAs, and other analytical tools. Develop and maintain performance dashboards to assess effectiveness of processes and site performance. Perform additional duties as assigned. Qualifications University degree in Industrial Engineering (required). Professional Engineering (P.Eng.) designation (asset). Minimum five years of experience in supply‑chain management, including lean implementation and cost accounting. Two to three years’ experience in time‑and‑motion direct‑labor measurement. Knowledge of mechanical equipment and processes. Superior analytical skills with advanced knowledge of spreadsheets and data‑modeling tools. Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently. Proficient in maintaining regular communication with customers. Ability to tailor communication style for diverse audiences. Ability to assess and prioritize projects and communicate investment justification. Benefits Payment in lieu for vacation and benefits. Annual performance award up to 8%. Work Environment & Expectations Hybrid work model: at least 40% on‑site at a Canadian Blood Services location. Mon‑Fri, 37.5 hours per week; additional hours may be required for projects.
