Structural Engineer– Heavy Industrial (Facilities Asset Integrity&Reliability Management) Location:

The Opportunity As part of the Asset Integrity&Reliability Management team, you will work alongside highly experienced and well‑rounded engineers focused on preventing equipment and structural failures throughout the full lifecycle of critical industrial assets. This is a hands‑on role combining fieldwork and office‑based engineering, offering exposure to a wide variety of heavy industrial facilities and infrastructure.
With an expanding portfolio of large and complex projects across Canada, this position provides an excellent opportunity to deepen technical expertise, take on increasing responsibility, and grow into leadership roles over time.
The role operates in a hybrid environment and includes short‑term travel for site inspections at industrial facilities. The Vancouver office is located within a modern and amenity‑rich business campus with convenient transit access.
Key Responsibilities
Design and analyze structural systems for heavy industrial and bulk handling facilities, including industrial buildings, marine and port structures, equipment support structures, conveying systems, and loading/unloading infrastructure
Prepare technical reports, design calculations, assessment documents, repair and rehabilitation packages, and construction drawings in accordance with applicable codes and standards
Participate as an Engineer of Record, as part of a multidisciplinary team, performing condition inspections and structural assessments for multiple facilities and clients
Conduct site visits and on‑site construction reviews, providing practical engineering solutions and recommendations
Collaborate closely with clients, contractors, consultants, and third parties to ensure quality project delivery and build strong professional relationships
Contribute to project planning, cost estimating, scheduling, proposal development, and project management activities
Participate in internal technical reviews to ensure design quality, safety, and constructability
Provide technical support and mentorship to junior engineers as part of a collaborative team environment
Qualifications&Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
Registered Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in British Columbia
Approximately 5–10 years of structural engineering experience, preferably within industrial or heavy infrastructure environments
Strong knowledge of Canadian design codes and standards for steel, concrete, and timber structures (CSA, NBCC)
Familiarity with U.S. design standards (AISC, ACI, ASCE) considered an asset
Experience with structural analysis and design software such as RISA, SAP2000, or STAAD
Exposure to AutoCAD and/or Revit is beneficial
Proven experience performing field investigations, condition assessments, and/or construction reviews
Strong written and verbal communication skills, including technical report writing
Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a collaborative, multidisciplinary team
Willingness to undertake short‑term travel to industrial job sites
Valid Class 5 BC driver’s license
