Expected Hiring Range $120,000 to $140,000 Employment Type: Permanent, Full time Location: Hybrid (3 days in office per week) Reports to: Vice President, Business Intelligence Benefits: Extended Health Benefits and eligibility to participate in the BC Municipal Pension Plan Role Overview The Director, Business Intelligence & Prospect Research provides strategic leadership for the Foundations data, analytics, and prospect development functions. This role is responsible for building and advancing an integrated approach to business intelligence and prospect research that enables data-informed decision-making and drives fundraising performance. This position oversees the full lifecycle of prospect developmentfrom identification and qualification through to portfolio optimizationwhile also establishing strong data governance, analytics, and reporting capabilities across the organization. The Director plays a critical role in equipping senior leadership, fundraisers, and the Board with actionable insights, while fostering a culture of data literacy, accountability, and continuous improvement. Key Responsibilities Establish and lead the organizations business intelligence strategy, including the development of KPIs, dashboards, and reporting that enable data-informed decision-making. Lead the Foundations prospect research and management function. Partnering with fundraising leadership to develop and optimize gift officer portfolios, including segmentation, capacity alignment, and performance monitoring against pipeline and revenue goals. Oversee data quality, integrity, and governance across CRM and analytics platforms, ensuring consistency and reliability of data. Design and develop a comprehensive prospect management system, forecasting models to assess pipeline health, pipeline analytics, and alignment with fundraising priorities. Provide high-quality research, briefings, and insights to support senior leadership, major gift officers, and Board engagement. Partner with IT and external vendors to optimize systems, integrations, and reporting capabilities. Evaluate and enhance the effectiveness of data, analytics, and prospect research programs, identifying opportunities for continuous improvement. Build organizational capability in the use of data, analytics, and prospect insights to strengthen performance and outcomes. Participate in process improvement initiatives and perform other related duties as required. Qualifications & Experience Successful completion of a Bachelors degree in Business, Data Analytics, or Statistics, is required. A minimum of 812 years of progressive experience in business intelligence, data analytics, prospect research, or related functions, preferably within a nonprofit or fundraising environment required. Demonstrated leadership experience overseeing data, analytics, or prospect development teams. Deep understanding of prospect research methodologies, wealth screening tools, drive adoption and portfolio management in a fundraising context. Strong experience with CRM systems (e.g., Raisers Edge or similar), data governance, and reporting tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, or equivalent). Proven ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable insights for senior stakeholders. Experience establishing KPIs, dashboards, and performance measurement frameworks aligned to strategic goals.
