Role and Facility Information The Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH) Division of Cardiology invites applications from outstanding cardiologists with a minimum of 1-year dedicated fellowship training in Heart Failure. This position is based at Vancouver General Hospital (VGH), a University of British Columbia (UBC)-affiliated teaching hospital. The successful applicant will pursue an academically focused career with a commitment to education. Responsibilities Support the Heart Function and General Cardiology Programs with care provision and consultation at VGH. Provide ambulatory heart function and general cardiology clinic services as well as inpatient cardiology consultation and ward service. Engage in teaching and research activities as part of the UBC Division of Cardiology’s academic focus. Qualifications, Education and Skills - Current College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia (CPSBC) License - Full - Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA) - Mandatory - Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Canada (FRCPC) - Eligible Applicants must possess RCPSC designation in Internal Medicine and Cardiology or equivalent, at least 1 year of Heart Failure training, and be eligible for licensure in the Province of British Columbia. Excellent communication skills, potential for excellence in teaching and research, and exceptional work ethics and collegiality are required. Academic Faculty Position This role includes a clinical assistant professor appointment (or higher) within the UBC Division of Cardiology. Rank is determined by the Academic Appointments, Reappointments, Promotions and Tenure (AARPT) Committee of the UBC Department of Medicine.
