Blinds Service Technician (General Labourer) (Vancouver)

This position is for a Blinds Service Technician, an essential support role that keeps our operations running smoothly. You will become a key part of our cleaning and repair services, ensuring every blind and shade we service looks and functions like new. This is an excellent entry point into the skilled trades with clear pathways for growth into installation, customer service, and/or sales. Looking for someone who wants to become a rock star and move up in a business that is primed for growth! A typical work week ranges between 15-30 hours, with the possibility of full-time during busier times or if the employee learns new skills e.g. advanced blind repair, warehouse organization, sales, etc. Shifts range from 4-8 hours, 3-5 days a week. The shop opens at 7:30am and closes at 4pm, Monday to Friday. Responsibilities - Perform professional cleaning of all types of window blinds and shades using industry-standard equipment - Conduct basic repairs at our warehouse shop, including records, slat replacements, and tilters - Assist with warehouse organization, inventory management, and preparing orders for delivery - Provide friendly, professional service during client-facing appointments - Support Installers as needed on job sites - Learn and adhere to all safety protocols, especially concerning ladder and tool use We’re Looking For Someone Who: - Is reliable, punctual, and takes pride in doing quality work - Has patience, a keen eye for detail, and a commitment to cleanliness - Possesses basic mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills - Is physically capable of handling blinds, using ladders, and working on their feet - Is eager to learn and grow within a supportive, local business - Good to have: a valid Class 5 BC Driver’s License and a clean abstract What We Offer: - Comprehensive training on cleaning techniques, repair basics, and customer service - A clear career path to advance to Installer or Warehouse Manager roles - A positive, team-oriented work environment - Opportunity to transition to full-time based on performance and business needs Qualifications - Ability to perform physical labour including lifting awkward/heavy blinds and standing for extended periods of time - Strong work ethic with a focus on safety, attention to detail, and learning on the job - Good communication skills and ability to follow instructions accurately - Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team - Reliable transportation to the workplace - Willingness to learn current skills and adapt to various tasks as needed - Prior experience working with tools or as a labourer might be helpful, but no experience is required Apply on Kit Job: kitjob.ca/job/2pcq7f
