Kitchen Helper/Cook (Downtown)

Overview We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Helper to join our team in a fast-paced restaurant environment. The ideal candidate will assist in meal preparation, food handling, and maintaining a clean and organized kitchen. This role is essential to ensuring the smooth operation of our kitchen and delivering high-quality meals to our customers. Responsibilities - Assist cooks in meal preparation by chopping vegetables, measuring ingredients, and preparing sauces. - Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen by washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, and disposing of waste properly. - Support food handling processes by ensuring all food items are stored correctly and labeled according to food safety standards. - Help with inventory management by restocking supplies as needed and reporting low inventory levels. - Follow all food safety guidelines to ensure the health and safety of both staff and customers. - Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely service during peak hours. Requirements - Previous experience in a kitchen or food service setting is preferred but not required. - Knowledge of basic cooking techniques and food preparation methods is a plus. - Understanding of food safety practices and regulations. - Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. - Strong communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team. - Willingness to learn and adapt to new tasks as needed within the kitchen.
