Your Opportunity Stantec is seeking a motivated Structural Engineer in Training in Vancouver, BC to support the delivery of complex Ports and Marine Terminals projects across British Columbia. This role offers hands‑on experience contributing to all phases of project execution including planning and design while developing core structural engineering technical competencies pertaining to marine infrastructure. Your Key Responsibilities Provide structural EIT support to engineers on varied‑sized projects within the Ports and Marine Terminals sector. Assist in reviewing drawings, drafting technical reports, memorandums and other technical documents. Conduct material quantity take‑offs, analysis/calculations, hand sketches, CAD drafting, and other EIT support tasks. Perform contract administration, coordination, contract development and other contract support tasks. Support Project Manager(s) / Director(s) in project delivery through initiation, planning, execution, monitor and control, and close‑out activities and other PM support tasks. Participate and coordinate project team activities and interact effectively with Clients, Contractors, Engineers, Project Managers, and other consultants. Coordinate and participate in technical proposal writing and other business development activities. With guidance, assist with the preparation and distribution of high‑quality, accurate and timely documents such as agendas, reports, minutes, communication logs, change management, and other required documentation. Your Capabilities and Credentials Experience with structural analysis tools including SAP2000. Foundational understanding of engineering design and relevant software including AutoCAD/Civil3D. Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills to effectively discuss project components with internal and external stakeholders. General understanding of a project lifecycle including design and construction processes and requirements. Excellent organizational skills, time management, and problem‑solving abilities. Ability to read and understand plans, specifications and technical documentation. Experience in risk management considered an asset. Demonstrated ability to handle multiple priorities and assignments. Must be able to successfully work both collaboratively and independently. Some travel to project sites may be required from time to time. Strong computer skills and literacy in scheduling, technical writing, presentation, and other software including MS Power Point, MS Word, MS Excel, MS Project. Education and Experience Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Structural Engineering or related field. A minimum of 1‑3 years of relevant structural engineering experience in a qualified environment. Previous experience supporting Ports and Marine Terminals projects is considered an asset. Typical Office Setting Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.
