RAM Consulting is growing its electrical engineering team and is looking for a Senior Distribution Engineer to support utility and infrastructure projects across British Columbia and Western Canada. This role is ideal for a Professional Engineer who enjoys staying hands‑on technically while also leading projects, mentoring junior staff, and working directly with clients. You will play a key role in delivering overhead and underground distribution projects while helping support the continued growth of RAM’s electrical practice. At RAM, senior engineers are trusted technical leaders who remain closely involved in project delivery, problem solving, and client collaboration. What You’ll Be Working On Leading the design and delivery of electrical distribution systems for utility and infrastructure projects Supporting overhead and underground distribution design, pole line projects, system upgrades, relocations, and end‑of‑life asset replacement work Reviewing electrical drawings, schematics, layouts, and engineering deliverables Acting as Professional of Record (POR) and providing engineering review and stamping where required Supporting projects involving utility distribution systems, EV charging infrastructure, street lighting, and related electrical infrastructure Coordinating with clients, contractors, utilities, and internal project teams to resolve technical and construction‑related issues Mentoring junior engineers and designers while contributing to a collaborative team environment Supporting project planning, schedules, budgets, proposals, and client meetings Building strong long‑term relationships with clients and project stakeholders What We’re Looking For Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering Registered P.Eng. with EGBC (or eligible for immediate registration) 8+ years of electrical engineering experience, including robust experience within utility or electrical distribution projects Experience with overhead and underground distribution systems Utility project experience is required Strong understanding of electrical utility standards and infrastructure design practices Experience with tools such as AutoCAD Electrical, ETAP, SPIDAcalc, PSCAD, or similar software is considered an asset Strong communication, leadership, and client‑facing skills Interest in mentoring and helping grow a high‑performing engineering team Why Join RAM Opportunity to work on meaningful utility and infrastructure projects across multiple sectors Strong technical team with a collaborative and supportive culture Hands‑on engineering environment where senior staff stay involved in delivery Career growth opportunities within a growing consulting firm Flexible and hybrid work environment Competitive compensation, benefits, RRSP matching, professional development support, and paid wellness time Compensation The estimated base salary for this position is approximately $115,000 – $140,000 depending on experience, technical background, and overall fit. At the time of this posting, the expected salary range is based on market data, internal equity, and the qualifications required for the role. Final compensation will be determined based on the successful candidate’s experience and background.
