About the Role As a Lead Geotechnical Engineer you will provide technical leadership and strategic guidance for complex engineering projects across British Columbia. You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams to deliver innovative solutions for public and private sectors. Responsibilities Lead geotechnical design and analysis for major infrastructure projects including transportation, energy, civil infrastructure, and urban development. Deliver advanced soil‑structure interaction studies and foundation engineering solutions that ensure safety and resilience. Collaborate with project managers, interdisciplinary teams, and clients to develop strategies that meet technical, environmental, and financial objectives. Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous learning. Drive innovation in geotechnical practices, integrating cutting‑edge technologies and sustainability principles into project delivery. Qualifications Minimum bachelor's degree in Civil, Geological or Geotechnical Engineering (master’s or PhD preferred). 12+ years of consulting experience in geotechnical engineering, including business development and project leadership. Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation in British Columbia or eligibility for registration. Expertise in advanced geotechnical analysis, design, and applicable codes and standards. Technical knowledge of deep foundations, shallow foundations, slope stability, earthquake engineering, retaining wall design, earth retention, settlement of compressible soils, ground improvement techniques, support of excavation, and dewatering. Experience with discipline‑specific design software and advanced numerical modelling such as Plaxis, FLAC, SLIDE, Settle3, SlopeW, SeepW. Proven ability to manage multidisciplinary teams and deliver projects on time and within budget. Robust verbal and written communication skills; experience presenting technical topics to clients and preparing technical reports. Ability to work independently and provide guidance and leadership to junior team or project members with strict QA/QC adherence. Well‑developed critical thinking and problem‑solving skills to apply technical knowledge and analyze data for effective solutions. Valid BC driver’s licence.
