Position Overview As a Generalist Software Engineer within EA SPORTS’ Advanced Technology Group, you will collaborate with game teams, central art teams, and the Frostbite engine team to build scalable technologies and improve user‑generated experiences. You will participate in architectural design, implementation, and debugging across multiple platforms, helping define the game’s foundation layer. Your Responsibilities Implement core logic for features, game flows, screens, and components. Develop technical solutions covering game development technologies, optimizations of frame‑rate and load‑times. Provide feedback, guidance and solutions for improvement and optimizations. Integrate and develop technologies into the game with other domain owners. Analyze impact on metrics throughout the development cycle. Your Qualifications 6+ years of experience in C++ software development. Proficiency in integrating and maintaining large‑scale systems covering multiple domains. Experience with memory management, multithreaded job system, runtime optimization and job‑based architectures. Knowledge of assembler, scripting languages (Python, Lua) and C#. Experience with third‑party APIs. Solid debugging skills for complex applications. Strong understanding of geometry, linear algebra, calculus, physics for 3D transformations and motions. Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field, or equivalent training and professional experience. Additional experience with XBOX/PlayStation platforms, Mobile, PC, or Cloud‑based games, or graphics libraries such as DirectX, OpenGL, or Metal is beneficial but not required. Pay Transparency - North America Compensation And Benefits The following ranges represent EA’s good‑faith expectation for this role. Compensation is determined by business and candidate factors such as education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, location, and needs. Pay Ranges British Columbia (e.g., Vancouver vs. Victoria): $141,400 – $204,400 CAD Benefits For Canada, the role includes: Vacation – 3 weeks per year initially. Sick time – 10 days per year. Paid top‑up to EI/QPIP benefits up to 100% of base salary for new child: 12 weeks maternity, 4 weeks parental/adoption leave. Extended health, dental, and vision coverage.
