About MIX MIX The Bakery is a neighbourhood bakery and café in Point Grey, Vancouver. We bake scratch-made breads, pastries, desserts, and savoury items daily, and operate a growing wholesale and catering business. We take food seriously and are proud of what comes out of our kitchen. The Role We're looking for an experienced Café Cook to join our kitchen team. You'll be responsible for preparing soups, sandwiches, and savoury items to order, and upholding our quality standards during service. What You'll Do - Prepare soups, sandwiches, salads, and savoury menu items to order - Set up and maintain a clean, organized station throughout service - Execute batch prep (stocks, soups, sauces) efficiently and accurately - Follow recipes and portioning standards consistently - Monitor food quality, freshness, and proper storage - Communicate clearly with front-of-house and kitchen team members - Assist with receiving, labelling, and rotating stock - Maintain a clean work environment and adhere to food safety standards What We're Looking For - Minimum 2 years of experience in a professional kitchen - Solid knife skills and solid understanding of cooking fundamentals - Experience with high-volume prep and line service - Ability to work efficiently and calmly under pressure - Reliable, punctual, and a team player - Availability for early morning shifts starting at 6am, with occasional weekends as needed - Food Safe Level 1 certification (or willingness to obtain) What We Offer - $19–$23/hr depending on experience - Full-time hours - Supportive, close-knit team environment - Staff discounts on baked goods and café items Pay: $19.00-$23.00 per hour Benefits: - Discounted or free food - Store discount Work Location: In person Apply on Kit Job: kitjob.ca/job/2pt1mm
