Description
Project Management Lead Responsible for driving consistent, high‑quality project delivery by aligning with Stantec’s Project Management Framework and leading continuous improvements in project execution, controls, and monitoring across the business center. Key Responsibilities Drive consistent project management practices and procedures in alignment with the Stantec Project Management Framework and any specific Energy and Resources business line practices. Recommend improvements to work processes, policies and procedures to enhance project execution, control and monitoring at both the project and business line levels. Serve as a project manager for projects, managing scope, schedule, budget, quality and risk in compliance with the framework and SOX controls, including interfacing and communicating with clients. Support PMs in implementing Health, Safety, Security and Environmental (HSSE) practices. Oversee, supervise and lead Project Managers to ensure timely, effective and efficient performance of project management responsibilities. Collaborate with the Project Management & Commercial Lead to recruit, retain, mentor, coach and lead all levels of the project management team, develop succession plans and address capability gaps. Work with the PMCL team to ensure continuous training for project managers and project controls staff. Assign projects to qualified PMs for pursuit efforts, provide formal feedback on performance of project managers and coordinators, and champion a collaborative delivery approach within the BC. Support campaign and proposal teams by reviewing proposal materials for alignment with the framework and confirming client requirements, scope, risk and commercial/technical needs. Proactively market and cross‑sell company services across business lines to secure new clients and commissions, strengthening industry relationships. Participate in debriefs to identify lessons learned and continuously improve pursuit and business development practices. Capabilities and Credentials Bachelor’s degree. Minimum 15 years of progressive experience managing a wide range of major and complex projects, including 5+ years in a leadership or supervisory role. Proven success delivering large‑scale, multidisciplinary technical projects ($5M+ in fees or comparable complexity). Ability to manage multiple teams and projects across varying disciplines and geographies. Strong financial acumen, contract management skills and understanding of business operations. Excellent communication, negotiation and leadership abilities. Proficiency with project management and collaboration tools. Primarily office‑based; a hybrid work environment may be considered, but extensive in‑office presence is required due to the leadership component. Periodic travel to other Stantec office locations or client meetings expected. Pay Range Locations in Lower Mainland – BC, GTA & Ottawa Ontario: $136,300.00 – $204,500.00 annually (pay transparency). Final compensation based on education, qualifications, experience, and location; some roles are bonus eligible. Part‑time compensation pro‑rated. Benefits Summary Health, dental and vision plans.
