Project Accountant (Vancouver)

The Project Accountant supportsvariousteamsin delivering new build construction, renovations, and specialfinancial and automationprojects by leading internal and external accounting initiatives. This role partners closely with corporateand operationsstakeholders, contractors, and vendors to ensure financial accuracy and alignment. Key responsibilities includeestablishingand managing budgets, reconciliations,driving initiatives in automation and efficiencies, and performance reporting. The ideal candidate brings strong projectand overallaccountingexpertise, advanced Excel skills, and a sharp attention to detail, enabling them to providetimelyfinancialand operationalinsights that drive successful project outcomesthat further economies of scale. This is an in-office role based in Vancouver, BC. Annual Compensation Range $70,000 $90,000 / year The salary range is dependent on skill and work experience. Responsibilities Manage purchase orders, change orders, invoices, and prime contracts for new builds, conversions, and renovations. Manage various projects in the areas of automation,financialplanning, and process improvements. Prepare andmaintainweeklyproject performance reportsforkeystakeholders. Identifyand communicate billing discrepancies and scheduling delays to Construction Project Managers. Serve asprimaryliaisoninthe Finance department toalign onproject financialsand cash flow forecasting. Participate in weekly project meetings, providing updates on project performance controls asrequired. Requirements Post-secondary education with3-4years of relevantexperienceinaccountingor accounting related field. CPA designation preferred although consideration will also be made for those currently enrolled and attending the CPA program. Strong organizational, analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills, with proven ability to navigate communication challenges. Proactive and action-oriented,demonstratinginitiative and ownership inpreviousroles. Ability to perform and adapt in a fast-paced, high-performance environment. Skilled in summarizing and presenting data concisely for executive-level reporting and presentations. Advancedproficiencyin Microsoft Excel, with strong knowledge of Word, Power Point, and Outlook. Familiarity with construction contracts,changeorder documentation, and construction accounting practicesis considered an asset. Experience in the construction industryis consideredan asset. Knowledge of restaurant operationsis consideredan asset.
