The Amazon Compensation Technology team is seeking an innovative and highly motivated Software Development Manager to join our growing organization. We are building recent software products and large‑scale distributed systems to manage the compensation experience for Amazon's rapidly growing workforce. Where third‑party products don't scale to meet our needs, we build our own solutions that provide the scalability and flexibility we require. We leverage the latest AWS technologies like Lambda, DynamoDB, SQS, SNS, Redshift, and S3 to build highly scalable solutions. Successful candidates will be strong leaders who can prioritize well, communicate clearly, and have a consistent track record of delivering large‑scale solutions. You will guide your team through all aspects of the agile software development lifecycle, including design, architecture, development, documentation, testing, and operations. You will push your team to own solutions end‑to‑end through full‑stack software development. Basic Qualifications 3+ years of engineering team management experience 7+ years of engineering experience 8+ years of leading the definition and development of multi‑tier web services experience Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and live‑site operations Experience partnering with product or program management teams Preferred Qualifications Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills, and make them more effective, product software engineers EEO Statement Amazon is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status, disability, or other legally protected status. Salary & Benefits The base salary range for this position is listed below and is expressed in Canadian dollars: 171,400.00 – 286,200.00 CAD annually. As a total compensation company, Amazon's package may include other elements such as sign‑on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
