We are recruiting an experienced Software Test Engineer (eCall Services) to join our team to support our client in the automotive industry.Location: Onsite.Responsibilities Verifying life‑saving technology that connects vehicles to emergency services during critical incidents.Ensuring the seamless performance of both legacy EU eCall and Next‑Generation (NG) eCall systems.Working in an agile environment, collaborating with developers across the Cellular, Audio, and Telematics domains to ensure our vehicles meet stringent global regulatory standards.Executing Regression and Sanity testing for European (EU) eCall and Next‑Generation (NG) eCall to ensure regulatory compliance and functional reliability.Performing sanity and regression testing for emergency audio paths to ensure crystal‑clear communication between vehicle occupants and emergency operators.Conducting Pull Request (PR) build testing to provide rapid feedback to the development team on new code submissions.Setting up and maintaining “Smart‑benches” including the configuration and provisioning of ECUs to simulate real‑world vehicle environments.Collecting and analyzing logs (e.G., cellular modem logs, network traces) to identify root causes of defects and assist development in resolution.Managing defects in Jira, including detailed reporting, triaging, and retesting of fixes observed during test cycles.Testing and validating new or updated test procedures to ensure high test coverage and efficiency.Required Skills & Qualifications Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or a WES‑evaluated equivalent.3+ years of experience in cellular/telecommunications testing (LTE, 5G, IMS, VoLTE) or automotive telematics.Strong academic foundation in wireless communications or networking, combined with a proven “self‑learner” mindset and a passion for troubleshooting complex systems.Knowledge of telecommunications, automation, Linux.Demonstrated experience with software testing fundamentals (functional, regression, and sanity testing).Familiarity with embedded operating systems (Linux, QNX, or Android).Proficiency with scripting (Python or Shell) for log parsing or simple automation tasks (if applicable).Solid analytical and communication skills to document technical issues clearly for a global engineering audience.Preferred Skills & Qualifications Knowledge of eCall standards (e.G., EN 16072, EN 16062) and Next‑Generation eCall (NG eCall) protocols.Knowledge of 3GPP Specifications, especially Layer3 (Call Processing).Experience with Jira, Azure, and test management tools (TestRail, Azure DevOps).Experience with cellular testing tools (QXDM, Wireshark, Spirent, Rohde & Schwarz, or Keysight network simulators).Agile workflow experience incorporating JIRA for defect tracking and test management.Compensation & Benefits Hourly rate: $44.00 – $48.00 (based on experience).Paid benefits after 90 days (individual and family) including extended medical, out‑of‑country coverage, and dental.Pension eligibility with employer match after one full year of work (open enrollment every October).Referral bonus available.Equal Opportunity & EEO Statement MEDA Limited is an equal‑opportunity employer and does not discriminate in employment on the basis of any of the protected reasons as described in the Ontario Human Rights Code.
