Senior Mechanical Design Engineer– Lead Innovative Automation Projects with World Class Brands We’re hiring a full-time

Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

to lead the development of custom, high-speed automation systems. This role is ideal for an experienced mechanical engineer with a passion for innovation, strong leadership skills, and deep technical expertise in machine design. You’ll be responsible for managing design projects from concept through to production, working alongside a team of engineers, manufacturing and procurement. You will be driving creative solutions for complex automation challenges, taking Pack‑Smart’s machine design to the next level.

Salary Range: $120,000 - $160,000 CAD *Requests outside of the salary range is available and determined by interview process*.

Conceptualize, model, and detail components and assemblies using AutoCAD and 3D CAD (SolidWorks)

Evaluate and optimize existing mechanical systems.

Collaborate in design reviews and cross‑functional project planning.

Mentor and supervise junior designers and engineers.

Assist with drawing filesystem administration and project documentation.

Liaison between engineering procurement and manufacturing departments.

5+ years of mechanical design experience in automation or machine building.

Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or related field).

Proficiency in AutoCAD and 3D CAD software; SolidWorks is an asset.

Well‑versed in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance (GD&T).

Strong knowledge of pneumatics, servo motors, and machine shop practices.

Experience with PDM document management systems. Excellent problem‑solving, organizational, and communication skills.
