Purchasing & Materials Manager We are seeking a results‑driven Purchasing & Materials Manager to lead sourcing, procurement, and materials planning for an automotive manufacturing operation. The Purchasing and Materials Manager is responsible for the overall implementation of process improvements within the department, as well as supplier performance, cost, inventory management and delivery. Pay From CA$ 110,000.00 per year Day Shift 1. 00am – 3.00pm Responsibilities - Develop and execute purchasing and materials strategies to support production schedules, new product launches, and capacity changes. - Lead supplier sourcing and APQP‑aligned supplier development (RFQs, negotiations, contracting, and launch readiness); manage supplier performance (quality, delivery, cost) - Translate production schedules and demand plans into MRP‑driven material requirements. (Forecast material requirements) - Utilize ERP/MRP systems like SAP, Business Central (BC) and other ERP tools to manage purchasing, inventory levels, and procurement workflows. - Coordinate all Purchasing and Materials activities to best utilize available resources and maximize efficiencies. - Manage vendor relationships, negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts to optimize supply chain efficiency. - Allocate work to Materials and Purchasing staff setting targets and communicating precise instructions. - Motivate and empower employees to achieve benchmark targets. - Promote a positive moral and maintain a good rapport with all personnel. - Promote a good working relationship with customers and promote robust company and departmental communications and co‑operation. - Ensure shipments meet customer requirements. - Maintain accurate inventory through cycle counts and system updates - Maintain compliance with health and safety standards and company policies - Provide support to all cross‑functional teams. (Production, Quality, Tool room, Engineering, Office, Maintenance) Qualifications - 5+ years of progressive experience in purchasing, materials management, and/or supply chain within automotive or high‑volume manufacturing. - Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience). - Working knowledge of contract management, pricing strategies, and procurement best practices. - Working knowledge of MRP/ERP systems and materials planning concepts (lead time and cycle counting). - Effective communication skills for collaborating across departments and negotiating with suppliers. - Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data related to pricing, supply chain metrics, and inventory levels. - Proven experience in materials management within an automotive manufacturing environment (Asset). - Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications - Ability to work in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment - Commitment to health and safety compliance in the workplace Perks - Casual dress - Company events - Dental care - Employee assistance program - Extended health care - Life insurance - On‑site parking - Paid time off - Tuition reimbursement - Vision care - Work from home Clover Tool Mfg Ltd. is dedicated to providing accommodations for applicants with disabilities throughout the hiring process, in compliance with the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA).
