About Us We are looking for a skilled and reliable Software Developer to help build custom online learning technology for our education programs. This role is ideal for someone who can develop interactive features from scratch, including a digital whiteboard and video call/classroom feature for an online tutoring platform. The developer must be able to work from our office in Vaughan, as this project requires close collaboration, regular testing, and in-person communication with the team. Position Summary The Software Developer will be responsible for designing, building, testing, and improving key platform features, including a live video call system and an interactive online whiteboard. The ideal candidate should be comfortable working independently, solving technical problems, and building clean, secure, and user-friendly software. Key Responsibilities - Build a custom interactive digital whiteboard from scratch - Develop or integrate a live video call/classroom feature - Create a smooth experience for tutors and students during online sessions - Build features such as drawing tools, typing tools, eraser, file/image upload, and screen interaction - Support teacher/student user roles and permissions - Ensure the platform is secure, reliable, and easy to use - Test features regularly and fix bugs - Work closely with the team in-office to understand educational needs - Provide updates on progress and timelines - Maintain clean code and proper documentation - Assist with future improvements and platform expansion Required Skills - Experience in web development - Solid knowledge of front-end and back-end development - Experience with JavaScript, PHP, HTML, CSS, and related technologies - Ability to build real-time features such as whiteboards, chat, or video tools - Understanding of APIs, databases, and user authentication - Problem-solving skills and ability to work independently - Ability to work in person from our Vaughan office Preferred Skills - Experience building online learning platforms or educational software - Experience with real-time collaboration tools - Knowledge of secure login systems and user dashboards - Experience with cloud hosting, GoDaddy hosting, or server setup - Ability to design clean, professional, user-friendly interfaces Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate is someone who is dependable, skilled, and creative.
