Junior R&D Engineer (North York)

Conavi Medical’s Novasight Hybrid System enables simultaneous imaging of a patient’s coronary arteries using both intravascular ultrasound (IVUS) and Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) technologies. If you would like to be a part of a talented team that is making a difference in healthcare, we currently have a new opening for a Junior R&D; Engineer to contribute to the development or enhancement of new and current medical devices (hardware) from design to the transfer to manufacturing. In this position, you will: - Contribute to the design of medical devices or their components (current or modifications to existing) focused on hardware - Create or modify device or component prototypes for design testing - Conduct bench-level testing to ensure device or component requirements are achieved - Prepare written reports on the implemented design and testing - Contribute to preparing the engineering documentation including drawing packages and the Bill of Materials (BOM) that facilitates the effective transfer of the design for manufacturing (DFM) - Report progress updates on R&D; project plans - Adherence to regulatory requirements associated with medical device design and manufacture - Participate and adhere to health & safety initiatives and requirements You possess the following qualifications: - Bachelor’s or above engineering degree (mechanical, electrical, biomedical, mechatronics) - Theoretical knowledge of standard technical documentation practices such as Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T;) - Proficiency in Microsoft Office, and relevant development software for the incumbent’s function (Mechanical-3D CAD e.g. Solidworks; Electrical-numerical computing e.g. MATLAB) - Demonstrated abilities in technical problem resolution - An attention to detail - Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills - Capable of multi-tasking and meeting deadlines Conavi Medical values everyone and their contributions.
