Mechanical Design Drafter / CAD Drafter Location: On-site / Hybrid after a few months Job Type: Full-time Salary Range: $60,000 – $70,000 per year Position Overview We are currently seeking a Mechanical Design Drafter / CAD Drafter to join a multidisciplinary engineering and manufacturing environment. This is an active opening created to replace a team member who was recently promoted internally. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing detailed drafting and design support for mechanical equipment and assemblies, working closely with Engineering, Project Management, Production, Purchasing, and customers to ensure accurate release packages for fabrication. Key Duties & Responsibilities - Participate in workplace health and safety standards and promote a solid culture of safety - Develop and maintain 3D models and Bills of Materials (BOMs) for fabrication - Produce detailed fabrication drawings for parts, assemblies, and pressure vessels - Translate rough concepts, sketches, and models into detailed designs - Create fully dimensioned drawings and BOMs from equipment and plant models - Conduct pre-shipment inspections as required - Collaborate with internal teams, suppliers, and customers throughout project lifecycles - Input and maintain BOM and routing data in ERP systems - Identify and support continuous improvement initiatives - Contribute to new product development and design reviews - Maintain positive internal and external customer relationships Qualifications & Skills - Diploma in Mechanical Engineering Technology or a related field - 2–4+ years of experience with CAD software such as Inventor or SolidWorks (preferred) - 2–4+ years of drafting experience (preferred) - Proficiency with Inventor, Revit, and AutoCAD - Experience supporting customers in a technical or manufacturing environment - Strong working knowledge of Microsoft 365 applications - Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and meet schedules - Excellent verbal and written communication skills - Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn Assets (Nice to Have) - Experience with CREO CAD and JD Edwards (JDE) ERP systems - Background in process piping design and layout - Knowledge of HVAC, steam, boilers, chillers, heat exchangers, or fire suppression systems - Experience with pressure vessel design and ASME codes - Familiarity with building mechanical systems and piping assemblies Compensation & Benefits - Competitive salary of $60,000 – $70,000 per year - Extended health, dental, and vision coverage - Education reimbursement - Bonus program and company pension - Vacation, paid time off, and company events - On-site parking Apply on Kit Job: kitjob.ca/job/2orrgf
