Building Science Project Associate, Kleinburg

Leading Edge Building Engineers Inc. is a fast-growing and innovative engineering firm seeking a Building Science Project Associate ready to take their experience to the next level. Our firm specalizes in building science and restoration of various types of existing buildings in the private sector. This is a great opportunity to gain valuable hands on engineering experience while receiving ongoing mentorship from leaders in the industry.

Responsibilities:

• Manage building restoration projects from initial design to construction completion
• Conduct site investigations and building condition assessments with guidance from senior staff
• Review shop drawings and assist with the development of design details based on building science fundamentals and performance criteria
• Perform contract administration/construction review responsibilities
• Prepare proposals, reports, and construction documents
• Participate in continuing education opportunities
• Perform other project tasks as required

Qualifications:

• Degree/Diploma in Architectural/Civil/Mechanical Engineering, or an Architectural Science program
• Must have previous COOP experience or 1 to 3 years of post-grad experience in building science
• Must have a valid driver's license and personal vehicle
• Must be able to work at heights on roofs, lifts and swing stages
• Preference will be given to those who will work towards their P.Eng. or C.E.T.
• BSS designation is an asset
• Basic knowledge and experience in AutoCAD
• Strong communication skills and a positive attitude
• Passionate to learn and foster creativity
• Coach and mentor junior staff
