Company Description Steeles Paint is Canada’s largest independent paint and decorating supercentre, operating a 20,000-square-foot store at 4190 Steeles Ave. West in Woodbridge. The store serves contractors, maintenance professionals, and DIY customers with thousands of paints, accessories, and décor products. Steeles Paint is recognized for expert wood stain, lacquer, and paint matching. Customers also benefit from a full decorating studio with wallpaper, fabric samples. Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Retail Paint Sales role based in Vaughan, ON. The team member will greet and assist customers on the sales floor, identify their project needs, and recommend appropriate paints, stains, finishes, tools, and accessories. Daily activities include providing product demonstrations, explaining application techniques, mixing and tinting paint, and coordinating with color matching and decorating consultants when needed. The role also involves processing sales transactions, maintaining well-organized and stocked shelves, and ensuring the showroom and product displays are clean and appealing. The individual will handle customer inquiries and concerns in a professional manner, support contractors and DIY customers with project guidance, and collaborate with colleagues across departments to deliver a consistent, high-quality in-store experience. Qualifications - Retail Paint Sales with the ability to engage customers, identify needs, and close sales in a rapid-paced store environment. - Strong Benjamin Moore Product Knowledge or willingness to learn about paints, stains, coatings, accessories, and basic application techniques. - Customer Service and Customer Satisfaction focus, with a friendly, solution-oriented approach to helping a diverse range of customers. - Clear and qualified Communication skills, including active listening and the ability to explain technical information in simple terms. - Ability to stand for extended periods, move merchandise safely, and work flexible hours, including weekends and peak seasons as required. - Previous experience in paint sales. - Comfort working in a team-based setting, with reliability, punctuality, and a robust sense of ownership over customer experience. - Basic math and computer skills for tinting formulas, inventory lookups, and point-of-sale transactions.
