Description
Overview We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Designer with strong SolidWorks experience to join our growing team. Our company specializes in the design and manufacturing of custom industrial powder coating paint line systems, serving a wide range of industries. This role involves creating detailed 3D models, production drawings, and system layouts for complex automated equipment. The ideal candidate is hands-on, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where designs move quickly from concept to fabrication and installation. Key Responsibilities: - Design and model custom mechanical components and assemblies using SolidWorks - Create detailed fabrication and assembly drawings for production - Develop full system layouts for powder coating lines, including conveyors, booths, ovens, and wash systems - Collaborate with fabrication and installation teams to ensure designs are practical and manufacturable - Review and revise designs based on feedback from shop floor and field installations - Maintain organized CAD files, drawings, and revision control - Assist with bill of materials (BOM) creation and material take-offs - Participate in project planning, timelines, and design reviews - Ensure designs meet safety standards and industry requirements - Troubleshoot design challenges and propose efficient, cost-effective solutions Qualifications - Proven experience with CAD software including SolidWorks and AutoCAD - Robust understanding of mechanical engineering principles and system design processes. - Proficiency in drafting technical schematics, assembly drawings, and construction documentation. - Knowledge of mechanical components, assemblies, and manufacturing processes. - Familiarity with construction practices and system integration within industrial environments. - Ability to interpret technical specifications and create detailed drawings accordingly. - Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail in design accuracy. - Relevant educational background in Mechanical Engineering or related field is preferred.
