Chef's assistant (Woodbridge)

Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will assist in the preparation of high-quality meals in a rapid-paced kitchen environment. As an assistant chef, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our kitchen runs smoothly and efficiently, contributing to the overall dining experience of our clients. Responsibilities - Assist in meal preparation by chopping, slicing, and dicing ingredients as needed. - Follow recipes and portion control guidelines to ensure consistency and quality. - Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including proper food storage practices. - Adhere to food safety standards and regulations to ensure the health and safety of all staff and customers. - Support chefs and cooks with various tasks as required, including cooking simple dishes when necessary. - Help with inventory management by checking stock levels and reporting any shortages. - Collaborate with team members to ensure timely service during peak hours. Skills - Strong understanding of food safety practices and kitchen hygiene. This is a MUST and should exceed food handlers certification! - Experience in meal preparation within a restaurant or food service environment is preferred. - Ability to handle food safely and efficiently, ensuring high standards of quality. - Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in food preparation tasks. - Ability to work effectively under pressure while maintaining a positive attitude and works well as a team - Strong communication skills and a willingness to work as part of a team. - Basic cooking skills with a passion for the food industry is a plus.
