Mechanical Design Engineer for Transformers, Vaughan

Join Northern Transformer Corporation in Maple, Ontario as a Mechanical Design Engineer specializing in power transformers. This role requires expertise in the design of liquid-filled transformers from 1 to 200MVA up to 230kV.

As a key member of the team, you will leverage your 5-10 years of experience in power transformer design while leading junior designers and collaborating with production teams. Your technical knowledge of CSA, IEEE, and ANSI standards will guide the creation of accurate drawings and work instructions for our premium transformers.

Key Responsibilities:• Design power transformers from 1 to 200MVA and up to 230kV • Review client specifications to align with project goals • Execute detailed mechanical design analyses, ensuring compliance with standards • Develop and upload drawings and bills of material • Train and mentor junior designers and other team members

Requirements:• Engineering degree and licensure in Canada, US or Mexico • 5+ years in transformer design and manufacturing • Proficiency in 3D CAD and numerical analysis tools • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail • Effective communication and mentoring abilities
