This role is a mix of general labour and driving duties, supporting daily operations at the transfer station and on the road. The successful candidate will assist with loading and sorting materials, maintaining site cleanliness, and operating light-duty trucks for pickups and deliveries. There will also be opportunities to operate equipment such as a skid steer or forklift. Key Responsibilities: - Operate company vehicles (Class 5) for local pickups and deliveries. - Assist with loading, unloading, and sorting of waste and recyclable materials. - Support transfer station operations, ensuring the site remains clean, organized, and safe. - Operate skid steer and/or forklift. - Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections. - Maintain daily logs and complete required documentation. - Follow all company safety procedures and safe work practices. - Communicate effectively with dispatch and team members. - Provide professional and courteous service when interacting with customers and the public. - Work both independently and as part of a team. - Perform other duties as required. Qualifications: - Valid Class 5 Driver’s License with a clean driving record. - Previous experience in a labour-intensive role preferred. - Experience operating skid steer and/or forklift is an asset. - Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions. - Physically capable of lifting up to 23 kg (50 lbs), and performing tasks such as bending, lifting, and standing for extended periods. - Strong work ethic and reliability. - Safety-focused mindset with attention to detail. - Comfortable working independently with minimal supervision. - Basic mechanical aptitude is an asset. ***Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted. ****Please note that this job description is not exhaustive and may be subject to change.
