On-Call Elementary Teacher (Vernon)

We are looking for an On-Call Elementary Teacher to support students at the Okanagan Indian Band Cultural Immersion School, nkmaplqs i snmamayatn kl sqilxwtet. SUPPORTS NEEDED - Perform the regular duties of the Classroom Teacher who you are filling in for - - Follow established yearly overviews, unit plans, and day plans - - Support the student-centered learning program in place which enhances the explicit programs our school delivers - - Integrate students with disabilities and challenges in a positive and respectful manner - - Supervision duties to includeclassroom supervision, field trips, & recess/lunch supervision - - Implement positive discipline when required in accordance with the School Handbook, which includes Conflict Resolution and Restorative Justice - - Ensure children have a safe and secure learning environment - - Attend Language and Culture classes daily with students to ensure classroom management and to learn language alongside with students. This includes local outings which may include hiking - - In case of extended teacher absence, collaborate to complete student report cards and interim reports using school-wide format - - Classroom supervision and management and supervise field trips and other supervision duties as required - Ensure children have a safe and secure setting - Perform other duties as required QUALIFICATIONS Education - Bachelor of Education, or equivalent - - Valid BC teaching certificate issued by the Teacher Regulation Branch or in the process of obtaining - - Current First Aid/CPR certificate or willing to obtain Preference may be given to those having knowledge of the Okanagan culture and traditions Apply on Kit Job: kitjob.ca/job/2ogqh7
