Production Worker/Machine Operator (Lumby)

Valley Wood, located just East of Vernon, near Lumby produces a wide variety of finished wood products including planters, trellises , fencing components as well as boards, siding and paneling. We are currently expanding our Planer division and are looking for lumber pilers as well as machine operators and graders. Positions are entry level. Training provided. Full time. First aide certification would be a definite asset Summary As a Lumber Piler - Production Worker, you will be a vital part of our manufacturing team, utilizing your core skills in mechanical knowledge, manufacturing, and assembly to ensure efficient production processes. Your premium skill in operating a forklift will be essential for moving materials and products safely and effectively. Additionally, your relevant skills in using hand tools, warehouse experience, and power tools will contribute to maintaining a well-organized and productive work environment. Responsibilities - Stack lumber according to specifications in a secure and efficient manner. - Use hand tools and power tools to assist in the production process. - Assist with assembly tasks as needed. - Maintain a clean and organized work area. - Follow manufacturing procedures and safety guidelines at all times. Qualifications - Mechanical knowledge - Manufacturing experience - Assembly skills - Proficiency in operating forklifts - Ability to use hand tools and power tools effectively - Previous warehouse experience - Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a rapid-paced environment.
