Contract Professional- Contract Management/Strategy -PCM Station Projects - Pay Rate: $69.70 /hour, depending on experience - Contract Length: 1 Year - Location: Vernon British Columbia Raise is currently hiring a Contract Professional-Contract Management/Strategy on behalf of our client. They’re expanding their team to meet growing needs, making this a unique opportunity to work with an industry leader. Our Client, is one of the largest electrical energy suppliers in Canada Note: The primary pay rate is based on T4 classification; however, we will also consider applications from candidates interested in an INC classification, where applicable. Description The Contract Professional in this role will be responsible for performing formal management of high-complexity procurement contracts to ensure projects and ongoing operations are delivered safely, with high quality, within budget, and on time. This dual-focused role requires a strategic thinker who can provide robust contract strategy support during early-stage project planning, as well as hands-on contract management and compliance governance throughout the active lifecycle of the contract Responsibilities - Strategic Planning & Procurement Support - Contract Strategy: Provide expert contract strategy support during project planning phases, advising project teams on the optimal contract models based on project scope, risk profile, and market conditions. - Procurement Knowledge: Apply deep knowledge of various procurement contract structures (including Supply, Supply & Install, and Services contracts) to guide client groups from sourcing through to award. - Risk & Liability Advisory: Provide guidance and advice to internal stakeholders using expert knowledge of public sector procurement law, contract terms, conditions, liabilities, and indemnities to protect ’s interests and maximize value. - Active Contract Management & Execution - Performance Monitoring: Perform day-to-day contract management activities for active, complex contracts, ensuring both and external suppliers fulfill all contractual obligations. - Risk Mitigation: Identify potential contract issues, claims, or variances early; take timely action to resolve disputes, negotiate changes, and communicate with stakeholders to minimize risk. - Relationship Management: Establish and maintain collaborative relationships between suppliers, internal project teams, and ’s broader Supply Chain organization to drive successful sourcing initiatives. - Financial Control: Forecast, monitor, and report on contract usage, change orders, and expenditures to ensure strict adherence to ’s contract and finance control policies and budget requirements. Qualifications - 12 years of progressive contract management and strategy work experience, ideally within a large utility, public sector entity, or heavy industrial environment. - Proven, expert-level understanding of complex procurement contracts, commercial terms, risk allocation, and end-to-end contract lifecycles. - Demonstrated ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams (Engineering, Project Management, Legal, and Finance). - Intermediate skills in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint). - Advanced English communication skills (written and spoken) tailored for an executive and professional environment. - Preferred Assets (Nice-to-Haves) - Hands-on experience using SAP for contract tracking, financial monitoring, or procurement workflows is considered a robust asset. - Practical experience or skills in project management and operations within industrial environments (such as construction, engineering, or maintenance) is highly valued. - Education and Certifications - Bachelor’s degree in Business, Law, Economics, or a related discipline. An equivalent combination of education and extensive experience will be considered. - Certificate in Supply Chain Management (e.g., SCMP), Project Management (PMP), or an equivalent designation is highly desirable. Additional Information - Every contractor must supply their own Windows 11 Laptop computer for the duration of the assignment. - Every contractor must supply their own “Smart Phone”.
