Civil Engineering Technologist (Vernon)

Job post summary Date posted: May 06, 2026 Expected start date: August 03, 2026 Job description: At Doctor Countertop Ltd., we are seeking a Civil Engineering Technologist to join our team and contribute to the development of primarily commercial projects. This position is ideal for someone who is organized, detail-oriented, and experienced in interpreting technical drawings, and who is interested in participating in all stages of project development from planning to execution while ensuring compliance with codes and safety regulations. Responsibilities: - Assist in the design and development of civil engineering projects - Prepare and review technical drawings, plans, and specifications using design software. - Monitor construction activities to ensure compliance with project specifications and safety standards. - Perform basic material testing and quality control checks. - Estimate quantities, costs, and materials required for projects. - Maintain accurate project documentation and reports. - Interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications. - Use software such as AutoCAD, Microsoft Project, and Microsoft Office. - Support the development of plans and specifications for commercial projects, especially flooring and countertop installations in high-traffic areas. Requirements: - Diploma or degree as a Civil Engineering Technologist or in a related field. - Minimum of 2 years of experience in similar roles. - Knowledge of construction estimating practices is preferred, but not required. - Proficiency in software such as AutoCAD or similar. - Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings and documents. - Solid analytical, planning, and problem-solving skills. - Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
